What Can a Calibee Chef Cook? A Sample Western Menu (Tailored to You)

One of the first questions we get from families is simple: “Can I see a menu first?” It makes sense. Before you invite a chef into your kitchen, you want to know what will end up on the table.

The honest answer is that there is no fixed menu at Calibee. Every household eats differently — some want light meals after work, some need low-salt dishes, some have kids who only eat pasta. So instead of a set menu, we share a sample menu as a common starting point, then adjust it with you.

Below is the Western menu our chefs often use as a base, plus a few ideas for special occasions.

A Sample 6-Day Western Menu

Breakfast is one dish. Lunch and dinner are a main, a side and a soup.

MondayScrambled eggs on toast with grilled tomatoGrilled chicken breast with mushroom sauce · Roasted vegetables · Creamy pumpkin soupBeef steak with black pepper sauce · Mashed potatoes & green beans · Vegetable soup
TuesdayPancakes with honey and bananaSpaghetti Bolognese · Cucumber & tomato salad · MinestronePan-seared salmon with lemon butter · Steamed broccoli & carrots · Creamy mushroom soup

Most families don’t book all three meals every day. Many book dinner only, or lunch and dinner on weekdays. The menu shrinks or grows to fit.

Why It’s Only a Starting Point

A sample menu shows what’s possible. Your real menu is built around your household:

  • Taste: less creamy, more spicy, kid-friendly portions
  • Diet: low-salt, low-sugar, no pork, vegetarian, pregnancy meals
  • Allergies: nuts, seafood, dairy, gluten
  • Mix of cuisines: Western on weekdays, Vietnamese or Asian on weekends
  • Kitchen: no oven? We switch to pan or stovetop versions

Local Ingredients, Familiar Flavours

Every dish above uses ingredients that are easy to find in Vietnam — local beef, basa fish, prawns, oyster mushrooms, fresh baguettes and seasonal fruit. Lime can stand in for lemon. Imported herbs and specialty cheeses are optional, not required. This keeps the food fresh and the grocery bill reasonable.

How We Tailor Your Menu

  • Tell us about your household — number of people, meals needed, likes and dislikes
  • We check the details — allergies, diet, kitchen equipment, guest count for events
  • You get a proposed menu — change any dish before the first session
  • Your chef adjusts over time — the longer they cook for you, the better they know your taste

Grocery shopping can be added if you’d rather not go to the market yourself. See packages and prices on our in-home cooking service page.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I choose dishes that aren’t on the sample menu?
Yes. The sample is just a reference. Send us your favourite dishes and we’ll check if they can be made with local ingredients and your kitchen setup.

Can the menu change every week?
Yes. Many families rotate the menu weekly so meals don’t get repetitive.

Do you cook Vietnamese and Asian food too?
Yes. Our chefs cook Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese–Korean and Western dishes, and can mix them in one week.
