Mirrors and glass surfaces are among the most sensitive and easily soiled surfaces in our homes. Therefore, cleaning them requires care and skill. In this article, Calibee will share some tips to help you clean mirrors and windows to make them sparkling clean and as good as new.
– A squeegee or a sponge
– A squeegee with a rubber blade
– A soft, lint-free cloth
– A bucket of water
– Glass cleaner or simply dish soap as an alternative

Subtitling workflow:

Step 1: Wet the squeegee or sponge in a mixture of clean water and glass cleaner/dish soap. Alternatively, spray the glass surface with the glass cleaner.
A small tip is to add a bit of vinegar to the mixture. This “magic” ingredient not only has acidic properties to kill mold and bacteria but also helps to make the glass surface shine.

Step 2: After wetting the squeegee or sponge, apply it evenly across the surface, ensuring that the cleaning solution removes all the dirt from the glass.
Step 3: Use the squeegee, moving your hand in a fan-shaped pattern from left to right, focusing on the corners and ensuring the squeegee reaches all the edges.
This method helps keep the squeegee lines sharp, prevents water from dripping onto dry areas, and reduces wrist strain by keeping the squeegee at an angle, making the process more comfortable and faster.

Step 4: Continue gently using the squeegee in a fan pattern until the entire surface is clean. Wipe any remaining water at the bottom of the frame with the edge of the squeegee. Finally, use a dry cloth to clean the bottom edges and corners of the glass.

You can apply the glass cleaning method described above to mirrors, doors, and staircases with excellent results. However, for windows (or sliding doors), a few additional steps are needed to complete the job effectively.
In addition to cleaning the glass, pay attention to cleaning the window frame, window sills, and gaps, as these areas often accumulate dust, dirt, and even mold.
Step 1: Clean the dust and debris from the window frame.
Before you start cleaning the glass, remove dust and debris from the window frame, sills, and gaps. For hard-to-reach areas, you can use a vacuum cleaner or a damp cloth.
Step 2: Scrub stubborn stains.
If there are stubborn stains, use a cleaning brush or an old toothbrush to scrub them. Apply the cleaning solution (water + vinegar) to the stained areas and let it sit for 5 minutes before scrubbing to enhance effectiveness.

Finally, use a dry cloth to wipe all surfaces of the window frame and sills. Make sure all surfaces are completely dry to prevent dust and bacteria buildup.
With these instructions, you can clean your home’s glass windows easily and quickly while achieving high results. For more tips, follow the professional cleaning skills series on Calibee’s YouTube channel!
