1. Cleaning Staff

Cleaning staff or housekeepers are usually employees of the cleaning company you hire. They might also work independently, but if you don’t have a referral from someone you trust, there could be risks. An independent cleaner might not have insurance to cover damages or a refund policy if you’re dissatisfied with their work. It’s always safer to hire a professional cleaning service.

There are signs to identify a good cleaner, starting from the moment they arrive. A good cleaner will always arrive on time, ready with all necessary tools and supplies. They should be efficient with their time, respectful of your personal belongings, home, and property.

Most importantly, if you have pets, their attitude towards your pets will speak volumes about them. Other signs of a good cleaner include neat attire, friendliness, and their overall demeanor. However, if the cleaner has long nails or behaves disrespectfully towards your pets, it might indicate they are not the right fit for you.

2. Finding a Cleaning Service Near You

House cleaners usually work for cleaning companies or independently. Hiring a reputable cleaning company is the safest choice as they are likely to be insured, experienced, and have policies and procedures to ensure a smooth scheduling and cleaning process. If you’re new to finding a cleaning service and unsure what to look for, the following tips might be helpful:

Preparing Before and After Cleaning

If you need help cleaning your home and have decided to hire a cleaning service, here are some tips to prepare before and after the cleaning. Before the cleaning, you might want to wait for a confirmation of your booking. During the cleaning, your entire house will be cleaned, meaning every area of your home will need attention. Typically, homeowners do not stay on-site while the cleaners are working. However, if you work from home and need specific areas cleaned at a certain time, be sure to inform the cleaning staff in advance.

After the cleaning is complete, spend about 10 to 15 minutes checking the house and evaluating the work while the cleaners are still on-site; they can address any issues you find immediately. If you’re not at home and assess the work after the cleaners have left, you can request them to return to fix any problem areas you identify.
